Verde Marine Energy, a Dutch bunker fuel supplier, is expanding its physical bunker operations in the ARA region (Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam) by adding new barges to its fleet. This move is aimed at better serving customers in the cities of Flushing, Terneuzen, and Ghent.

Supplying HSFO and Marine Biodiesel

The company has also added a dedicated barge for supplying high melting point heavy fuel oil (HSFO) to its fleet. This action follows Verde Marine's agreement with American bunker fuel supplier, Sunoco Marine, in August. The goal of this collaboration is to expand bunkering operations in the ARA and UK regions. It is expected that this partnership will add new barges, products, and supply points to the fleet.

Transformation in Marine Biodiesel Supply

In June, Verde Marine began supplying marine biodiesel, including B100, in the ARA region. The company has stated that since then, it has delivered thousands of metric tons of B100 via barge and truck in this area. Analysis of ENGINE fuel quality data shows that the supply of B100 in the city of Rotterdam has significantly increased this year compared to 2025.

Given the growing demand for clean and sustainable fuels, Verde Marine is taking these steps to meet its customers' needs and increase its share in the sustainable energy market. By expanding its fleet, the company aims to improve customer access to bunker fuels and marine biodiesel, which can help reduce environmental pollution.
