The South Pars joint field, with a daily production capacity of 28 million cubic meters of natural gas, faces challenges such as gas imbalance. Therefore, the production and operations manager of Pars Oil and Gas Company, Alireza Sarmadi, has pointed out the reduction in repair time for the gas platforms in this field and emphasized that this action will lead to significant economic savings for the country.

Major repairs of platforms and reduction of downtime

Sarmadi stated that with the efforts of the major repair teams and the establishment of a specialized valve workshop at sea, the downtime of the platforms and the repair operations have been noticeably reduced. This specialized capability plays a significant role in accelerating repairs and returning equipment to the production cycle, thus reducing the duration of repairs and allowing for a quicker return of platforms to operational status.

The production and operations manager of Pars Oil and Gas Company emphasized that with the establishment and operation of the specialized valve repair workshop at sea, one of the major concerns in major repairs has been largely resolved. Valves of the platforms are repaired in various sizes, from the smallest to the largest, and this process is particularly efficient when technical inspection and operation units request repairs.

Economic savings and increased production

Sarmadi added: "A quicker return of the platform to production is equivalent to maintaining a daily production capacity of 28 million cubic meters of gas, which is estimated to have an economic benefit of over $5 million for the country." This reduction in repair time and platform downtime is especially significant given the country's gas shortage.

He also reminded that the development of specialized capabilities at sea not only helps reduce repair times and operational costs but also increases the speed of returning equipment and platforms to the production cycle and strengthens the continuity of gas production from the South Pars joint field.

Ultimately, these actions and improvements play a central role as part of the overall strategy to optimize production and reduce gas imbalance in the country, and it is expected that with the continuation of this trend, the gas production capacity in the South Pars joint field will significantly increase.
