Saeed Pakseresht, the integrated planning manager of the National Iranian Gas Company, announced the return of lost capacity of South Pars refineries. According to him, in the recent attacks on the country's gas facilities, 230 million cubic meters of gas processing capacity was removed from the cycle daily, which is considered one of the largest attacks on gas facilities in the world.
Refinery Reconstruction Plans
Pakseresht emphasized that from the beginning, reconstruction plans were defined in two parts: the first part, early reproduction aimed at reducing the consequences of the incident and quickly restoring part of the refining capacity to the production cycle, and the second part, complete reconstruction of the damaged facilities which requires more time. The early reproduction plan is designed in four phases, two of which have been completed so far, and part of the lost capacity has returned to the country's gas network. The third phase of this plan is also expected to be operational according to the scheduled timeline.

Important Dates and Reconstruction Progress
The integrated planning manager of the National Iranian Gas Company pointed out that for the fourth phase, the initial timeline was set until May 2027, but efforts are being made to return part of this capacity to the production cycle before the onset of the cold months of the year. In this regard, the responsibility for the reconstruction of the third and fifth South Pars refineries has been assigned to the National Iranian Oil Company, and the reconstruction of the fourth and sixth refineries to the National Iranian Gas Company. This action is aimed at utilizing all capacities of the oil and gas industry and carrying out reconstruction operations in the shortest possible time.
Pakseresht further stated that although various plans and measures had been anticipated in previous years for readiness in critical conditions, this time the gas industry was tested in a real field, and valuable experience was gained in crisis management and resilience enhancement. He added that various actions for the preparation of facilities, equipment, and human resources had been undertaken, which helped to navigate through difficult conditions with minimal consequences.
He also referred to the importance of using technologies and technical knowledge in the reconstruction process, stating that the country's gas industry has many experiences in operating gas refineries. This specialized support has been very effective in executing reconstruction operations.
Pakseresht stated that in this path, maximum specialized capacity, technical knowledge, and experience of experts and specialists in the gas industry have been utilized, and efforts have been made to ensure that the reconstruction process proceeds with speed and appropriate quality. He also emphasized that maintaining the position of Iran's gas industry as a mature and professional industry requires continuous utilization of the latest scientific and technological achievements.
