Increase in Savings Capacity
Tavakoli stated that the goal of these contracts is to create new capacities for energy savings. According to him, in the residential sector, there are 2,337,084 cases, in the power sector 7 cases, agriculture including greenhouses and poultry farms 2,283 cases, industrial 609 cases, and in the commercial sector including bakeries and restaurants 5,329 cases are anticipated. Planning to Reduce Gas Consumption
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company further referred to the gas imbalance this winter and said: Based on estimates, at peak consumption, we will face an imbalance of 200 to 250 million cubic meters and also a shortage of 130 million cubic meters. To compensate for this imbalance, the legal capacities of the seventh program and Article 46 are among the proposed solutions.
Tavakoli also highlighted the importance of using high-efficiency heaters and upgrading heating systems to reduce residential gas consumption, adding that by improving these systems, we can reduce the energy consumption of a residential unit by up to 80% in the winter season.
Considering that every degree of temperature reduction adds to gas consumption in the country, Tavakoli emphasized the necessity of focusing on optimizing energy consumption in residential units. With the implementation of these plans, it is hoped that we can make the best use of available energy and reduce imbalances.
