Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has completed Phase One of the Hadibah gas and condensate field development in the United Arab Emirates. This field, discovered northeast of the Saja gas field, will soon increase gas production capacity to more than double and will support Sharjah's long-term energy supply.
Details of Phase One of the Hadibah Development
The Hadibah field was discovered in May 2024 and, with an accelerated planning for assessment and development, reached gas production in less than a year. Phase One included drilling appraisal wells, analyzing well data, installing gas gathering infrastructure, constructing pipelines, and commissioning facilities. This project demonstrates SNOC's ability to advance from discovery to production in a short time.

Future Plans and Economic Impacts
SNOC is preparing for the next phase of development, which will focus on increasing production by 2027. The Hadibah field is expected to reach stable production levels by 2028, while Sharjah seeks to meet its future natural gas needs. Khaled Al-Mazrouei, CEO of SNOC, stated that this project represents the company's ability to respond to the energy needs of the emirate. He added that the Hadibah field will play an increasing role in enhancing energy security and creating long-term value for Sharjah.
The company also announced that it completed Phase One despite regional transportation challenges and supply constraints. Masoud Al-Hamadi, Executive Director of SNOC's upstream sector, cited positive appraisal results as indicators of the long-term commercial potential of the Hadibah field, including reservoir quality, favorable pressure characteristics, and promising production performance.
The development of the Hadibah field is part of SNOC's broader efforts to expand gas production and strengthen domestic energy supply in Sharjah. This project not only contributes to increased gas production but could also have positive implications for the local economy and energy security in the United Arab Emirates.
