Singapore LNG (SLNG) has commenced the construction of a third jetty at the Jurong Island terminal to enhance LNG supply capacity. This new jetty can increase LNG supply capacity to 3 million tons per year, addressing the growing market demand.
Details of the New Jetty Construction
The new SLNG jetty is expected to be operational in the second half of 2028 and will be capable of handling LNG vessels with capacities between 5,800 to 80,000 cubic meters. This jetty is specifically designed for small and medium-sized vessels, allowing the terminal to conduct more LNG fuel loading and bulk cargo loading and unloading operations.

Meeting Growing Demand
With the operation of the new jetty, SLNG will be able to meet an LNG fuel loading demand of approximately 2 million tons per year. In total, the new infrastructure can manage up to 3 million tons of LNG fuel per year. Leong Wei Hong, CEO of SLNG, has stated that with the increasing demand for LNG fuel, the third jetty will enhance Singapore's capacity to support the next phase of growth.
ISCC EU Certification and Liquid Biogas Supply
Additionally, SLNG has successfully obtained ISCC EU certification for managing Liquid Biogas (LBM) at its terminal. This certification includes storage, gas supply, loading, and transportation operations, allowing customers to trace the certified liquid biogas managed through these facilities.
The new jetty will also be capable of managing LBM, providing SLNG with greater flexibility in supporting demand for lower carbon-emitting fuels. This initiative is part of SLNG's efforts to meet the increasing needs of the clean and sustainable fuel market.
