Seyed Mohiuddin Jafari, in a meeting with Mehdi Ahmadkhanbeigi, the head of the Oil Industry Technology and Innovation Park, emphasized the necessity of utilizing the capacities of knowledge-based companies in digital transformation and artificial intelligence in exploration management. He pointed out that the main goal of this transformation is to improve technical decision-making, reduce risks, and increase the speed and accuracy of exploratory activities.

Capacity of Geological Data and Artificial Intelligence

The exploration manager of the National Iranian Oil Company introduced the vast volume of geological, geophysical, and drilling data as an important capacity for the development of artificial intelligence applications. Jafari emphasized that the management, integration, processing, and intelligent interpretation of data will have increasing importance in the future of exploratory activities. Technologies such as machine learning and advanced data analysis can help in more accurately identifying subsurface structures and reducing drilling risks.

The Necessity of Purposeful Communication with Knowledge-Based Companies

Jafari emphasized the necessity of purposeful communication between the oil industry and knowledge-based companies and stated that the needs of exploration management should be transformed into specific and actionable issues. In this regard, holding a joint technology supply and demand event will provide an opportunity for direct communication between knowledge-based companies and the specialized issues of exploration management. This event depends on clarifying technological needs and providing the ground for specialized solutions from companies.

Mehdi Ahmadkhanbeigi also emphasized the necessity of developing problem-oriented collaborations between the oil industry and technology companies in this meeting. He highlighted the capacities of knowledge-based companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, big data processing, and specialized software, stating: "Effective utilization of these capacities depends on establishing direct communication between industry needs and technology providers."

In this meeting, the areas of cooperation between exploration management and the technology park focused on identifying and prioritizing technological needs and recognizing capable knowledge-based companies were discussed. Additionally, the possibility of designing and holding a joint technology supply and demand event aimed at introducing the specialized challenges of exploration management and identifying solutions suitable for the needs of this field was discussed.
