Seyed Jamal Mousavi, in an interview, referred to the importance of implementing the Car-Free Day initiative at the Ministry of Oil and said: "This initiative is vital for saving fuel consumption and improving environmental conditions." He emphasized that this initiative should be continuously pursued and operationalized and should not be limited to a one-time action.
Necessity of Operationalizing the Initiative
The Vice President of the Environmental Fraction of the Parliament continued: "Although this initiative may initially seem like a simple action, its impact on reducing fuel consumption and promoting the culture of public transportation is significant. Especially in the current economic conditions of the country, where the need for resource management and cost reduction is felt more than ever."
Mousavi, referring to the current situation of the country and the challenges related to transportation and gasoline consumption, emphasized the need for support from executive agencies and the government to realize this initiative and added: "Specific programs must be developed so that this initiative can be realized in practice and citizens become familiar with it."
Operational Programs of the Ministry of Oil
According to the directive from the Deputy Minister of Oil in the development of management and human resources, the implementation of the "One Day Without Cars" initiative is set to begin in all companies and subsidiaries of the Ministry of Oil across the country starting from Tuesdays. This initiative is considered an effective measure in managing energy consumption and ensuring the country's fuel supply.
This initiative, especially in conditions where traffic and air pollution have become serious problems, can help reduce fuel consumption and consequently reduce pollutant emissions. The Ministry of Oil aims to play its role in improving environmental conditions through the implementation of this initiative.
Mousavi also added: "Serious efforts must be made to promote culture in this area, and government agencies should act as role models in implementing this initiative. These actions can help enhance the quality of life for citizens and reduce economic costs."
