Samad Hassan-Zadeh, president of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, during his recent trip to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, examined the role of this country as the most important gateway for Iran and other countries to the African market. In meetings with local officials and private sector representatives, he pointed out the economic and commercial capacities of Kenya and the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Economic Capacities of Kenya

Kenya, as one of the leading countries in East Africa, is recognized for its high economic capacities in various fields such as agriculture, industry, and services. With a population of over 53 million and an economic growth rate of about 5 percent per year, this country can be considered a target market for the export of Iranian goods. Hassan-Zadeh stated in this regard: "Kenya, with its excellent geographical position and access to regional markets, can serve as a bridge for entering larger African markets."

Business Opportunities and Collaborations

The president of the Iran Chamber of Commerce pointed out the potential business opportunities between the two countries and added: "Iran can collaborate with Kenya in various fields such as oil products, petrochemicals, and food industries. The capacity for exporting Iranian products to Kenya and the possibility of investing in this country's infrastructure projects are among the areas of cooperation." He also referred to the exchange of technology and experiences in various fields, especially in modern technologies and agriculture.

In this context, Hassan-Zadeh announced plans to hold trade exhibitions and business meetings between economic actors from Iran and Kenya, stating: "These events can help better understand the markets of both countries and increase trade interactions."

In conclusion, Hassan-Zadeh emphasized the need to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Iran and Kenya, adding: "Given Kenya's economic conditions and needs, Iran can play an important role in the economic development of Kenya."
