Saeed Pakseresht, the integrated planning manager of the National Iranian Gas Company, announced that following recent attacks on the country's gas facilities, 230 million cubic meters of gas processing capacity has been taken out of the cycle daily. This incident is recognized as one of the largest attacks on gas facilities globally and its consequences have significantly impacted the country's gas industry.

Early Reconstruction and Reproduction Plans

Pakseresht emphasized that from the outset, reconstruction plans have been defined in two sections. The first section is early reproduction aimed at mitigating the consequences of the incident and quickly restoring part of the processing capacity to the production cycle. In this regard, the early reproduction plan has been designed in four phases, two of which have been completed, and part of the lost capacity has returned to the national gas network. The third phase of this program is also expected to be operational according to the scheduled timeline.

Pakseresht continued: "Although the initial timeline for the fourth phase was set for May 2027, efforts are being made to return part of this capacity to the production cycle before the onset of the cold months of the year." This action reflects the ongoing effort to return to normalcy and reduce the consequences arising from these attacks.

Responsibility for Refinery Reconstruction

The integrated planning manager of the National Iranian Gas Company noted that according to the decision of the Ministry of Oil, the responsibility for the reconstruction of the third and fifth South Pars refineries has been assigned to the National Iranian Oil Company, while the reconstruction of the fourth and sixth refineries has been entrusted to the National Iranian Gas Company. The aim of this division of responsibility is to utilize all available capacities in the oil and gas industry to carry out reconstruction operations in the shortest possible time.

Pakseresht also added: "The experience gained from the recent attacks on the country's gas facilities taught us that although various plans and measures had been anticipated for preparedness in critical conditions in previous years, this time the gas industry was tested in a real field, and valuable experience was gained in crisis management." These experiences have contributed to better and faster crisis management.

He emphasized that utilizing past lessons and previous experiences has played a crucial role in managing this crisis, and the results indicate that the reconstruction and restoration operations have so far progressed according to plan, and the effects of the incident have been largely controlled.

In conclusion, Pakseresht spoke about the use of technologies and technical knowledge in the reconstruction process, stating: "The gas industry of the country has many experiences in operating gas refineries, and this specialized backing has been very effective in carrying out reconstruction operations." He stressed the necessity of keeping knowledge and technology up to date in the gas industry, stating that maintaining Iran's position in this industry requires continuous utilization of the latest scientific and technological achievements.
