The increase in diesel prices in the United States has fueled concerns about local fuel shortages. While diesel and gasoline prices have risen following the U.S. and Israel's conflict with Iran, these two fuels remain available, albeit at higher prices.
Fuel Price Situation in Different States
However, some gas station owners have reported that their diesel inventory has run out, which appears to be a temporary issue. In Texas, where many refineries and oil fields are located, the average diesel price reached $5.9779 per gallon on September 20. Meanwhile, regular gasoline is being offered at $3.9480 per gallon.

In California, where there are fewer refineries and oil fields, and air pollution regulations complicate the refining process, the average diesel price has reached $8.4244 and regular gasoline at $6.1533 per gallon.
Impacts on Transportation and Energy Crisis
The rise in fuel prices has not only affected ground transportation but several airlines have also announced that they will reduce the number of flights due to increased jet fuel prices. With disruptions in the oil market, it seems that not only are local energy costs varying, but their availability is also affected.
Analysts believe that the market has shifted from a pricing problem to a delivery problem. The ability to deliver gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel particularly depends on two factors: proximity to the supply source and the ability to make necessary payments. Currently, some regions, especially in Northwestern Europe and domestic markets, are at risk of fuel shortages in the winter season.
With oil product inventories nearing operational minimums, daily consumption must align with daily production. This means that some individuals may have to reduce their fuel consumption or forgo it altogether.
