Ahmad Midari, the Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, announced at the inauguration ceremony of the oil refinery renovation project in Abadan that this project will be revived with an investment of one trillion tomans. Midari stated that this refinery had been idle for years and reported on the efforts made to launch it within less than a year.

Economic Capacity and Benefits of Reviving the Refinery

The Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare further added that with the revival of this refinery, the processing of base oil will be done in Abadan instead of sending it to Tehran and Isfahan. This action will not only help improve oil processing but will also enable the export of oil products. Midari highlighted the quality of base oil as an important capacity for the country and emphasized that this project could play a significant role in meeting domestic needs and exports.

Social Programs and Job Creation

At this ceremony, Midari also referred to the implementation of the workers' housing project in Abadan and said: "This project has been implemented in several cities across the country and will also be carried out for the companies based in Abadan with the cooperation of local officials and companies. The success of this project depends on the level of cooperation from local officials and companies." He also mentioned the commitment of one oil company to rebuild schools in Abadan and Khorramshahr, stating that the number of schools and the timeline for the project will be specified.

The Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare regarding corporate social responsibility said: "The experience of producing school uniforms in Khorramshahr last year will serve as a basis for expanding this model in other areas, and a memorandum of understanding will also be signed for the repair and reconstruction of schools." Additionally, cooperation between the technical sector and companies based in Abadan for creating home-based jobs in clothing production is also on the agenda.

Workers' Wages and Necessary Agreements

Midari regarding workers' wages stated: "In this regard, workers and employers must reach an agreement, and the legal framework of the issue must also be examined." He emphasized that the legal matters raised by various groups should be pursued with the agreement of workers and employers and after being presented to the government.
