The South Pars gas field, with a daily production capacity of over 700 million cubic meters of gas, is considered one of the most important and largest gas fields in the world. Following the damage inflicted on its facilities during the recent war, this field faced a serious challenge in gas production. For this reason, members of the Article 90 Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly visited the affected units of this field during their trip to Bushehr province.
Damage to Facilities and Compensatory Actions
Mohammad Amir, one of the representatives present during this visit, referred to the serious damage inflicted on the facilities of this field and announced that four phases of this field had been taken offline due to the damages. He also added that, considering the capabilities of Iranian youth, a significant portion of the gas production shortfall has been compensated. This indicates the strength and capabilities of domestic resources in managing industrial and production crises.

Actions Taken and Assessments
During this visit, the members of the Article 90 Commission held a meeting with officials from the National Iranian Oil Company and other relevant institutions. In this meeting, comprehensive explanations were provided regarding the actions taken to compensate for the decrease in gas production. The present representatives assessed these actions as generally acceptable and emphasized the importance of restoring production capacities.
The South Pars field, as one of the main gas suppliers of the country, plays a vital role during the cold months of the year. Therefore, damage to the facilities of this field can have significant impacts on the country's gas supply. Given the current conditions and existing challenges, restoring production capacity and compensating for the shortfall have become primary priorities on the agenda of the National Iranian Oil Company.
Ultimately, this visit and the actions taken clearly demonstrate the national determination to maintain and improve energy production in the country. With the existing capacities and domestic capabilities, it is hoped that this process will soon bear fruit and the gas supply in the country will return to a stable state.
