The President expressed appreciation for the efforts of the strivers in the oil and energy sector during a cabinet meeting and emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity in society. Massoud Pezeshkian stated that livelihood, employment, and production must be at the forefront of all ministers' and executive officials' programs, stressing that the production wheel should not be allowed to suffer.

The Necessity of Reforming Consumption Patterns

Pezeshkian added: "If necessary, temporarily and in line with reforming consumption patterns, unused buildings and cultural and sports complexes will be closed to keep the production wheel turning." He emphasized that strengthening people's livelihoods and supporting production are the government's top priorities. For this purpose, energy consumption in all areas, including electricity, gas, gasoline, and water, will be reduced.

Promoting a Culture of Not Using Cars

The President referred to the "Car-Free Tuesdays" initiative and described it as a measure in line with promoting a culture of not using cars for at least one day a week to reduce air pollution, traffic, and gasoline consumption. He stated: "It is necessary for the government and officials to be the initiators of this plan and take steps to strengthen production."

At the beginning of this meeting, Mohammad Reza Aref, the First Vice President, appreciated the efforts of Mohsen Paknejad, the former Minister of Oil, and welcomed Hamid Bord as the new caretaker of the Ministry of Oil.

In the current situation, where the country is facing multiple economic challenges, the President emphasized the necessity of convergence and cooperation among all government institutions. He expressed hope that with the efforts of the strivers and the cooperation of all sectors, it would be possible to improve the livelihood and economic conditions of the people.
