Prime Tanker Management has recently adopted the FleetVision™ platform from ShipIn in its fleet. This platform provides captains and shore teams with better visibility into daily vessel operations and offers strong evidence to support safety improvements.
Improving Safety Performance
Prime Tanker Management has introduced FleetVision to complement its existing safety management framework, which includes inspections, safety meetings, near-miss reports, and vessel visits. This platform provides operational insights between continuous inspection points, helping teams understand where procedures are consistently applied and where more attention is needed.
Measurable Results
By leveraging this fleet approach, measurable improvements in practice have been observed. In a 60-day comparative period, Prime Tanker Management recorded a 76% reduction in personal protective equipment (PPE) related deviations, a 51% reduction in bridge-related deviations, and a 69% reduction in technical deviations. Additionally, participation in safety activities has increased by 3.4 times, indicating greater involvement in drills, tool meetings, and pre-shift meetings.
The overall FleetVision score for Prime Tanker Management improved from 82 to 94, indicating stronger alignment with defined operational standards. The overall value of this platform is its ability to provide a similar operational view across vessels, helping Prime Tanker Management continuously track performance and reinforce expectations.
Marinos Sirigos, Vice COO and DPA of Prime Tanker Management, said: "FleetVision gives us better visibility into how safety procedures are applied in daily operations and provides the captain with another tool for direct engagement with the team."
This operational visibility also strengthens a broader assurance framework. In TMSA negotiations and with major oil companies, FleetVision provides objective evidence of how safety procedures are applied in daily operations, helping Prime Tanker Management demonstrate how risks are identified and how performance improves over time.
