Role in the Petrochemical Industry
On a larger scale, Shahavisi has a history of membership in the representatives' board of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (in the ninth and tenth terms) and has served as a main member of the National Technical Safety Council. One of the important aspects of Peyman Shahavisi's background is his involvement in the commercial and sales structures of the petrochemical industry. In September 2025, he was appointed as a main board member of the Petrochemical Trading Company (PCC) representing Payataha Trading Company (affiliated with Iran Investment Company); a company that plays a key role in the export and market regulation of petrochemical products in Iran.
Shahavisi's journey at the helm of Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical has been accompanied by ups and downs. In May 2025, he was appointed as the caretaker of this complex by the National Pension Fund Investment Company (Saba Energy). Later, in late October of the same year, management changes occurred and Ayoub Benavi briefly replaced him as CEO; an appointment that was met with reactions in the local and industrial media.
However, in February 2026, Saba Energy Holding decided to reinstate Peyman Shahavisi to the management position, and he took the helm of Masjed Soleiman Petrochemical once again. Currently, managing sustainable feedstock supply, controlling costs, and achieving the nominal production capacity of this complex are among his key missions, which will directly impact the revenues and profitability of upstream holdings.
