Omid Shakri, the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, visited the Karoun, Amir Kabir, and Razi petrochemical complexes on the second day of his trip to the Mahshahr Special Economic Petrochemical Zone. This visit was conducted to assess and monitor the reconstruction and startup process of these complexes, which were damaged due to recent incidents.

Reviewing the Status of Petrochemical Complexes

During this visit, Omid Shakri and his accompanying team closely observed the repair and reconstruction status at the Karoun petrochemical complex, with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons of ethylene, Amir Kabir with a capacity of 1.4 million tons of polypropylene, and Razi with a capacity of 2.2 million tons of polystyrene. These complexes faced serious challenges in their production and maintenance processes following the recent incidents.

Meeting with Petrochemical and Terminal Managers

Shakri also visited the Petrochemical Terminals and Tanks Company and the Mahshahr Research and Technology Center, reviewing the latest activities conducted in these facilities. In this context, a meeting was held with the managers of the Special Economic Petrochemical Zone and several managers of the petrochemical complexes in the region. This meeting was organized to coordinate efforts to expedite the reconstruction process and improve production conditions in these complexes.

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company emphasized the importance of rapid and effective reconstruction of the petrochemical complexes during this meeting and called for cooperation and collaboration from all relevant institutions and managers to achieve this goal. Shakri noted that the reconstruction of these complexes would not only impact the fulfillment of domestic needs but also represents an important step towards strengthening the country's petrochemical industry.

Given the existing capacities and high potential of Iran's petrochemical industry, the reconstruction of these complexes could play a significant role in increasing the production and export of petrochemical products. Therefore, continuous follow-up and precise monitoring of the reconstruction process are essential to achieve the set objectives.
