Oman's Energy Minister, Mohammed bin Zaki Al Shibi, announced in his recent meeting that the Middle East needs to create more diversity in liquefied natural gas (LNG) export routes. He emphasized that this diversity could help strengthen energy security in the region and allow producing countries to access new markets.
The Necessity of Diversification in Export Routes
Al Shibi stated in this meeting that currently, Middle Eastern countries rely on a few limited routes for LNG exports. This dependency can increase security and economic risks. According to him, creating new export routes to importing countries, especially in Asia and Europe, could help increase competition and reduce prices.

Oman's Energy Minister also referred to the high LNG production capacity in the country, stating that Oman aims to increase its production capacity to 11 million tons per year by 2025. This capacity increase will pave the way for more exports and access to new markets.
