National Iranian Gas Company, during Saeed Tavakoli's visit to North Khorasan province and in a meeting with the province's officials, emphasized the importance of energy consumption optimization as a key solution for gas network stability. Currently, 109 energy service companies (Karvar) are collaborating with this company, enabling the transfer of gas resources from non-productive sectors to productive and industrial sectors through optimization projects.

Successful Examples of Gas Consumption Optimization

Tavakoli presented successful examples of optimization projects in Razavi Khorasan province, stating that one of the Karvar companies in the bakery sector has achieved a 50 to 70 percent reduction in gas consumption by modernizing technology in 18 units. Additionally, in the brick production sector, by replacing traditional methods with new technologies, gas consumption per ton of product has decreased from 300 cubic meters to 27 million and 400 thousand cubic meters.

Challenges and Preparedness for Winter Season

The CEO of National Iranian Gas Company pointed out the attack by Zionist and American forces on March 18 of last year on some South Pars refineries, noting that 230 million cubic meters of gas were removed from the national network. However, with the round-the-clock efforts of gas industry employees, 100 million cubic meters of this capacity will return to production and consumption. Tavakoli emphasized that there is still a 130 million cubic meter imbalance in the network, and managing consumption and promoting a culture of it in society is essential.

Sustainable Gas Supply through International Collaborations

He further referred to the sustainable gas supply in the northeastern network of the country, stating that National Iranian Gas Company is focused on diversifying energy supply routes, including imports, swaps, and gas transit, relying on international capacities, especially from Turkmenistan. The technical and legal grounds for this collaboration have been established, and there are no debts to the counterpart.

Behman Noori, the governor of North Khorasan, also emphasized in this meeting that all operational scenarios have been developed based on the analysis of the province's situation and existing capacities, and necessary actions have been prepared and communicated to the relevant authorities for every condition. He also stressed that utilizing the capacity of Karvar companies for high-consumption industrial units is an unavoidable necessity.
