Mohammad Sadegh Mehrjou explained the performance of the technical affairs management of the Central Oil Fields Company of Iran in the first half of this year, stating that drilling, repair, and completion programs for wells and the installation of surface facilities have been pursued with the aim of increasing production capacity and preserving the production capability of oil and gas fields.
Operations in the Khanguiran Gas Field
Mehrjou, referring to the operations carried out in the Khanguiran gas field, added: The drilling of well number 97 in this field has been completed, and the necessary facilities for production from it have also been installed. The anticipated production capacity of this well is 1 million and 300 thousand cubic meters of gas per day. Completing the executive operations and providing the necessary infrastructure will facilitate the utilization of this well's production capacity. The development of gas wells in this field is pursued with the aim of strengthening gas production capacity in the eastern part of the country.

Progress in the Khartang Field
The technical affairs manager of the Central Oil Fields Company of Iran further referred to the latest status of the development operations in the Khartang gas field, stating: So far, drilling of three wells in this field has been completed, and the necessary facilities have also been installed. He noted the completion of well number 3 in Khartang in the first half of this year and the installation of its surface facilities, emphasizing that the anticipated production capacity of this well is 1 million and 500 thousand cubic meters of gas per day. Additionally, the drilling of well number 2A in Khartang was also completed in August 2025, with an anticipated production capacity of 1 million and 500 thousand cubic meters of gas per day.
Mehrjou, referring to the history of the development of this field, added: Wells number 1 and 4 in Khartang were also put into operation in 2024, which was carried out within the framework of the field development program and increasing gas extraction.
Activities in the Tous Gas Field
Mehrjou discussed the activities carried out in the Tous gas field, stating: The drilling of well number 4 in this field was completed in September 2025, and its anticipated production capacity is 1 million and 500 thousand cubic meters of gas per day. The technical affairs manager of the Central Oil Fields Company of Iran emphasized that after the completion of drilling, the completion of equipment and the provision of necessary conditions for connecting the well to production facilities will follow for the next steps to utilize the created capacity.
Repair of Oil Wells and Coordination in Operations
In another part of this conversation, Mehrjou referred to the repair operations of oil wells, stating: In the first half of 2025, the wells of Danan 1, Danan 5, and Malekouh 1 were repaired. He added: The repair of oil wells is carried out to resolve technical issues, improve operational conditions, and sustain production, playing a significant role in maintaining the production capacity of oil fields in the western part of the country.
