The Norwegian marine technology company Miros has supplied over 10 marine technology deployments across South America in the first quarter of 2026, with Brazil accounting for a significant portion of these activities.

Technologies Used

These deployments include real-time wave and ocean monitoring technologies and oil spill detection, supporting underwater construction activities, marine vessel operations, drilling-related activities, and responses to environmental crises. Miros has also supplied deployments related to marine operations in Guyana.

Expansion of Activities in Brazil and Guyana

Activities in 2026 continued after receiving additional marine technology awards in Brazil and Guyana in the final months of 2025. Miros announced that recent agreements include both new and existing customers, and with the expansion of collaborations, it has extended its systems to more vessels and marine assets.

These deployments include marine support vessels, marine crisis response vessels, and drilling-related assets. The company has not disclosed any information regarding individual customers or contract values.

Marius Fiu Arset, CEO of Miros, stated: "What is particularly encouraging is not only the number of successes but also the pattern behind them. We are witnessing the adoption of Miros technology by new customers and the expansion of existing customer collaborations to additional vessels and increased activities in Brazil."

Miros announced that ocean data is used in real-time to support operational decision-making in underwater operations, drilling, vessel operations, and oil spill responses.

Brazil remains the center of the company's expansion in South America. Miros collaborates with its local partner, Belga Marine, to provide technology and local support, which includes oil spill detection systems.

The company stated that it will continue to invest in engineering, commercial, and customer support resources in Brazil to target more opportunities in the marine energy sector across South America.
