Mehdi Timouri, head of the Environmental Protection Agency of Ilam Province, visited the Cheshmeh-Khosh Dehloran oil field to examine environmental indicators and reduce pollution. This visit aimed to assess the status of the facilities and explore solutions for reducing industrial pollution and restoring lands.
Assessment of Oil Facilities
During this visit, Mehdi Timouri and managers of oil projects, including the Cheshmeh-Khosh, Dalpari, and Paydar Shargh fields, emphasized adherence to environmental standards in oil facilities. Reports from the HSE units of the companies operating in these fields were presented, and the existing challenges in oil extraction operations were discussed.
Essential Environmental Axes
The Environmental Protection Agency of Ilam Province emphasized the implementation of four essential axes, including soil pollution, sustainable development, wildlife protection, and improving environmental conditions. These actions aim to strengthen the interaction between the environment and the oil industry and improve monitoring indicators in operational areas.
The Cheshmeh-Khosh oil field, with a daily production capacity of 30,000 barrels of oil, is recognized as one of the important fields in Ilam Province. This field has faced numerous environmental challenges in recent years, necessitating optimal monitoring and management.
In this context, Mehdi Timouri highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring and the implementation of preventive programs, stating: "Reducing pollution and preserving the environment must be prioritized in the oil industry's programs. Effective and planned actions can help improve environmental conditions and reduce the negative impacts of industrial activities."
This visit demonstrates the serious commitment of the Environmental Protection Agency of Ilam Province to closely monitor oil activities and maintain environmental quality in operational areas. Ultimately, establishing a balance between industrial development and environmental protection is essential so that future generations can also benefit from natural resources.
