The President, emphasizing proper management and transparency of information, called for effective action against violations that could help block smuggling routes and prevent resource wastage. He also pointed out the necessity of fairness in subsidy distribution, stating: "The benefits derived from consumption management should be spent on strengthening the livelihoods of low-income groups and improving the economic situation of households."
Reforming the subsidy allocation system
Pezeshkian emphasized the need to revise the method of gas subsidy allocation and called for designing a fair mechanism for households to benefit from government support. Criticizing the allocation of multiple subsidies to owners of several properties, he called for reforming the subsidy allocation system based on specific criteria and ensuring social justice. He emphasized that receiving a subsidy quota should be regulated, and consumption exceeding the designated quota should be subject to pricing commensurate with actual costs.
Pezeshkian also stressed the necessity of organizing fuel consumption in various sectors and called for clarifying the status of legal entities. He stated that allocating subsidized gasoline to legal entities is unnecessary and that a review of subsidized diesel allocation for non-essential uses should be conducted.
In conclusion, the President emphasized the need for transparency in the fuel consumption of public transport fleets and called for the creation of an accurate database regarding the status of the fleet and its fuel consumption volume. He stressed that consumption management in the public sector should be pursued vigorously and that the performance of agencies in this regard should be continuously evaluated.
