Khangiran gas field, one of the most important and largest gas fields in Iran, with a daily production capacity of 250 million cubic meters of natural gas, is recognized as the main source of gas supply in the winter season. This field is located in Razavi Khorasan Province and plays a vital role in providing energy for the country during the cold seasons of the year.

Details of Khangiran Field

Khangiran Field, as one of the main gas fields in Iran, was commissioned in 2012 and has been continuously producing and supplying gas to the national grid since then. Given the high production capacity of this field, it is expected that during the winter season, extraction from this field will increase to meet domestic needs, especially in cold regions. Currently, this field produces an average of 250 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, which meets a significant portion of the country's needs.

The Importance of Gas Supply in Winter

As the cold season approaches and energy consumption increases, especially in the residential and industrial sectors, the sustainable and adequate supply of natural gas from Khangiran Field becomes particularly important. In recent years, gas shortages due to lower temperatures and increased consumption have led to challenges in energy supply. For this reason, the National Iranian Gas Company plans to optimally utilize the capacities of Khangiran Field through precise planning.

Moreover, Khangiran Field is considered one of the strategic projects aimed at achieving the country's energy self-sufficiency goals, and given the existing natural gas reserves in this field, it can be regarded as one of the main pillars of energy supply for the country in the near future.
