Natural gas futures prices on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose midday on Monday due to strong demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) and stable production. The gas market has been affected by varying weather conditions and persistent warmth in the southern regions of the United States.
Increase in LNG Demand
In recent weeks, LNG export volumes have reached their highest levels, contributing to price strengthening. According to reports, LNG export volumes have reached 20 million cubic meters per day, representing a 15 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This upward trend is attributed to high international demand for liquefied natural gas and also a decline in production in some gas fields.

Impact of Weather Conditions on the Gas Market
Weather conditions have also significantly impacted natural gas prices. Persistent warmth in the southern regions of the United States has increased gas consumption for cooling system energy needs. This situation has led producers to ramp up production to meet the growing demands, ultimately resulting in price increases. Additionally, natural gas production in the United States has currently reached 92 billion cubic feet per day, indicating a 2 percent increase compared to last month.
Moreover, market analysts predict that with continued demand for LNG and warm weather conditions, prices will remain elevated in the coming weeks. Currently, investors and traders are assessing the market situation and forecasting potential price changes.
