Saeed Tavakoli, CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, announced the growth of gas delivery to the country's industries in an interview with Shana and emphasized that there are no restrictions regarding major industries, especially steel and petrochemical industries. He added that some of these industries were damaged during the imposed war for various reasons, but now, with crisis management, the situation has improved.
Crisis Management and Sustainable Gas Supply
Tavakoli pointed to the challenges ahead in ensuring sustainable gas supply for the country following recent incidents in the South Pars gas field, stating: "If I compare the performance of the first six months of this year with the same period last year, the volume of gas delivered to the network has decreased by about 14 percent. However, the share of gas supply to power plants has been maintained at almost the same level. This year, 85 percent and last year 86 percent of the fuel basket needs of power plants were met with gas. This success indicates the high resilience of the country's gas network in tough conditions."

Prioritizing Fuel Supply for Power Plants
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company also referred to the company's priorities in supplying fuel to power plants and said: "These figures indicate that the entire gas industry of the country is putting all its efforts into maintaining the flow of gas in the production and industrial sectors so that the wheel of the country's economy does not stop in difficult production conditions." These actions are aimed at preventing electricity imbalance and ensuring the stability of the energy network.
Considering the importance of sustainable gas supply for industries and power plants, Tavakoli emphasized the necessity of continuing this trend and added: "We are looking to enhance the country's refining capacities and increase gas production from gas fields to meet the growing needs of industries. Especially the South Pars gas field, which is one of the largest gas fields in the world and plays a key role in supplying the country's gas."
Tavakoli also referred to future plans for improving gas supply infrastructure and increasing storage capacities, adding: "We aim to lead the gas industry of the country towards higher efficiency by utilizing modern technologies and employing specialized forces."
These actions and plans demonstrate the serious determination of the National Iranian Gas Company to optimally manage gas resources and meet the needs of industries and power plants in critical conditions.
