The Ilam Gas Refinery has outlined four key management and operational strategies to ensure production sustainability during the winter season. Masoud Morshedi, the head of the company, elaborated on these strategies, focusing on addressing bottlenecks and enhancing equipment reliability.
Major Repairs and Equipment Optimization
Morshedi stated that major repairs and periodic servicing of turbine number three of the power plant and air compressors have been fully completed in the critical rotating machinery section. He added that off-gas compressor number one has also been improved to maximize the reliability of the devices. These repairs have been carried out to enhance the performance of key equipment and are expected to have a positive impact on gas production.
He continued: To ensure the operation of the sulfur recovery unit, steam blowers have been successfully repaired, and electric blowers are also in emergency repair phase. These actions are aimed at preparing the equipment before entering the cold months of the year.
Intelligent Risk Management and Rapid Response Teams
Morshedi also emphasized the importance of "intelligent risk management and warehousing," stating that all spare and critical parts for rotating machinery have been secured through continuous monitoring of the supply chain. This approach helps reduce equipment downtime in emergencies.
He also mentioned the formation of rapid response teams that have been established to intervene during trip incidents or emergency repairs. These teams quickly address problems with their expertise and experience to prevent production stoppages.
Morshedi stressed that developing and scripting crisis management guidelines is another strategy of the company. These actions include training and executing emergency response scenarios for staff to ensure a quick return to production in case of any sudden stoppage.
He further referred to the relationship between the consumption pattern of fellow citizens and the sustainable gas supply in winter, stating that with decreasing temperatures, gas consumption in residential and commercial sectors increases, putting additional pressure on the country's gas production and distribution chain. Therefore, saving on unnecessary consumption can facilitate meeting the country's essential needs.
Morshedi emphasized the shared responsibility in ensuring gas supply sustainability, stating that while the industry is committed to sustainable production and refining, consumers can also play a significant role in maintaining network sustainability by optimizing their consumption, especially during the cold days of the year.
