Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.) has achieved a new milestone in the maritime transportation industry by developing a new vessel with a capacity of 35,000 cubic meters for carrying LPG and ammonia. This vessel has been designed and built in compliance with various standards, taking into account the main needs at large terminals, especially in Japan.
Approval in Principle from ClassNK
ClassNK, one of the reputable inspection and certification bodies in the maritime industry, reviewed the design of this vessel and issued an Approval in Principle (AiP) after confirming compliance with the necessary standards. This approval was presented to representatives of Hyundai Heavy Industries at an official ceremony during the Gastech 2026 exhibition held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Importance of Safety and Efficiency in Gas Transportation
The new vessel has been designed by HHI in accordance with international and local standards, particularly based on the "Rules and Guidelines of ClassNK for the Inspection and Construction of Steel Ships." These rules include the IGC Code, which is specifically developed for the construction and equipment of vessels that carry liquefied gases in bulk.
