Hassan Eftekhari, the CEO of the Gas Company of Khorasan Razavi Province, announced the launch of the first synthetic gas (SNG) facilities in Mashhad. These facilities were established with private sector investment and financing from the factory owner to supply the gas needed for industrial units during pressure drops or natural gas restrictions.
Performance of Synthetic Gas Facilities
The SNG facilities can produce a gas similar to natural gas by combining liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and air. This feature allows industrial units to continue their essential activities without the need to replace gas-burning equipment. Eftekhari emphasized the importance of this capacity during gas imbalance conditions and deemed it a necessity for industries during the cold days of the year.

Support for Industries and Providing Secondary Fuel
The CEO of the Gas Company of Khorasan Razavi Province announced the readiness of industries to use secondary fuel during natural gas restrictions. He clarified that this issue has been widely communicated to industrial units, and during restrictions, the National Oil Products Distribution Company will be responsible for supplying the secondary fuel needed by industries.
Eftekhari emphasized the collaboration between the gas company and the Ministry of Oil with units that have SNG facilities and those with LPG tanks. This collaboration includes providing a minimum amount of natural gas needed for heating and the LPG required through the mechanism of the National Oil Products Distribution Company's Sadaf system.
Tous Industrial Park and Its Capacities
Hassan Eftekhari, during his visit to the Tous Industrial Park in Mashhad, assessed the readiness of industrial units for the upcoming cold season. This park, covering an area of over 450 hectares and housing nearly 800 units, is considered one of the largest industrial parks in Iran. Part of this visit included inspecting the storage equipment and SNG facilities established by one of the ceramic industrial units located in this park.
The Importance of Synthetic Natural Gas
Synthetic natural gas (SNG) is a gas produced by combining liquefied gas and air, and it has combustion characteristics similar to natural gas. This system serves as an alternative for supplying gas to industrial units during pressure drops or natural gas restrictions and can help maintain industrial activities.
