Hamidreza Bani Asadi, the manager of Region 6 of Iran's gas transfer operations, announced the implementation of innovative projects in this region while emphasizing the importance of safety and crisis management. He explained that the assessment of the region in the field of passive defense and emergency management by the Ministry of Oil, the development of guidelines for passive defense requirements and emergency management for the first time in the gas transfer company, the development of emergency situation coding guidelines, and the review of security risk assessments have been significant actions in this sector.

Innovative Measures and Energy Savings

Bani Asadi elaborated on the innovative measures in Region 6, stating: "The use of composite materials in pipeline repairs and the application of engineering analysis methods such as FFS and sediment analysis from smart pigging are among the important actions in the field of technology and efficiency." He also referred to the use of new methods for strengthening buildings and emphasized that the result of these actions has been a significant saving in energy consumption.

The manager of Region 6 of Iran's gas transfer operations added: "The implementation of improvement, repair, and innovative projects in the region has not only ensured the continuity of gas transfer but has also prevented the stoppage of gasoline, oil, and gas production in Hormozgan province's refineries and the gas outages of Hormozgan and Kerman power plants." These actions demonstrate the serious commitment of Region 6 to enhance efficiency and safety in gas transfer.

Challenges and Future Plans

Bani Asadi pointed out the existing challenges in the region, stating: "The single pipeline being the main gas transfer route to Hormozgan and Kerman provinces is considered one of the significant operational challenges of the region." He also mentioned future plans, including major and periodic repairs of turbines and compressors at the Sirjan, Tang-e-Ni, and desalination facilities, adding: "Repairing pipelines based on the results of smart pigging, modifying sensitive pipeline intersections, and replacing strategic equipment are among the important priorities of the region in the coming months."

The manager of Region 6 of Iran's gas transfer operations concluded by emphasizing that operational areas are the executive arm of the gas transfer company, and the sustainability of safe gas transfer, preventive maintenance, energy consumption management, reduction of pollutant emissions, and rapid response in emergencies are realized in these areas. Additionally, the successful experience of replacing 213 outdated window air conditioners with high-efficiency split units, which has led to an annual saving of 1.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, can serve as a successful model for other subsidiaries in the gas industry.
