At Gastech 2026, GTT Energy is unveiling a range of innovations aimed at improving the economic, energy, and environmental performance of liquefied gas transportation. These innovations particularly include new solutions for LNG fuel storage and a service ecosystem for LNG carriers.

Introduction of New Innovations and Services

GTT Energy introduced two new proposals: a next-generation solution for LNG fuel storage designed to enhance the overall economic performance of vessels and the LNG performance center, a new service ecosystem for LNG carriers. This center is designed to provide greater visibility to ship owners, charterers, and crews regarding vessel operations.

New Developments and Approvals

GTT also presented several other developments that demonstrate the company's ongoing commitment to innovation:

  • LNG Carrier with a Capacity of 174,000 Cubic Meters: GTT and Hudong-Zhonghua received principle approval from several reputable entities including the American Bureau of Shipping and Bureau Veritas for the LNG carrier with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters and GTT NEXT1® membrane technology. The design of this vessel provides a guaranteed evaporation rate of 0.07%, which helps improve the overall efficiency of the vessel.
  • 7.5-Year Maintenance Interval: GTT received principle approval from Lloyd’s Register for a 7.5-year maintenance interval for LNG carriers with GTT membrane storage systems. This longer interval can increase vessel availability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Compatibility with Terminals: A study conducted by GTT and Lloyd’s Register Advisory confirmed the compatibility of 200,000 cubic meter LNG carriers with most existing terminals, which can help increase cargo capacity and transportation efficiency without the need for fundamental changes to existing terminal infrastructures.
  • Etabe Carrier with a Capacity of 100,500 Cubic Meters: GTT and Hudong-Zhonghua received principle approval from DNV for an etabe carrier with a capacity of 100,500 cubic meters and NO96 Super+ storage system. This vessel also features a No. 4 tank that optimizes available space and increases cargo capacity.

Finally, GTT introduced its technologies aimed at reducing environmental impacts. These technologies include a 2 barg membrane technology for LNG carriers and insulation with low global warming potential. These innovations help GTT move towards the use of alternative materials with significantly lower global warming potential.
