Greenland Energy Company has extended the drilling deadlines for two exploratory wells in the Jameson Land field located in eastern Greenland until the end of 2028 by amending its bidding agreement with 80 Mile plc.

Extension of Well Drilling Deadlines

According to the amended agreement, the final date for drilling the first well has been extended from December 31, 2026, to December 31, 2028. Additionally, the deadline for the second well has also been moved from December 31, 2027, to the same date of December 31, 2028.

Transfer of Rights and Responsibilities

Greenland Energy has also assumed the rights and responsibilities previously held by its affiliate, March GL Company, under the bidding agreement. This company will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining the necessary permits and approvals for the Jameson Land drilling program. 80 Mile will also be responsible for securing other governmental approvals required under the bidding agreement and will collaborate in the permitting activities of Greenland Energy.

Robert Price, CEO of Greenland Energy, stated: "This amendment provides us with additional time and a clear framework to continue the Jameson Land program while the permitting process progresses. The revised timeline allows us to safeguard the significant operational readiness we have achieved so far and align future activities with the necessary legal approvals."

Greenland Energy will pay 80 Mile £500,000 as a fee related to this amendment. The original bidding agreement remains valid.

The new deadlines provide more time for the exploration program in eastern Greenland, but do not specify exact dates for drilling either well.
