Farhad Shahroki, Vice Chairman of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, announced that the implementation of the pressure boosting project for the South Pars gas field is being pursued with greater speed. This project is designed to counter the pressure drop in this strategic field, and it seems that close cooperation between the Ministry of Oil and the Islamic Consultative Assembly can help accelerate its implementation process.

Continuous Monitoring and Efforts of the Oil Industry

Shahroki deemed it unreasonable to attribute the delays in the implementation of this project to the oil industry as a whole and emphasized that the Energy Commission of the Assembly is continuously monitoring the execution process of this project with informed oversight. He stated: "The continuous and diligent efforts of the oil industry, especially the South Pars Oil and Gas Company, have been evident."

The Vice Chairman of the Energy Commission also referred to the recent approval of the pressure boosting project by the Economic Council and added that this approval could be the starting point for accelerating the operational implementation of this project. He emphasized the use of existing capacities to compensate for the delays and mentioned that a suitable synergy has been formed among contractors, the Ministry of Oil, and the Assembly in recent weeks.

The Necessity of Countering Reservoir Pressure Drop

Shahroki discussed the necessity of countering the pressure drop in the South Pars reservoir, stating that the Energy Commission of the Assembly will support the execution of the pressure boosting project and hopes that its implementation will become a successful and effective experience for the country's industry. One important aspect of this project is the suitable capacity to benefit from the capabilities of various industrial sectors in the country, such that small, medium, and large industries can participate in providing equipment and executing different parts of the project by injecting financial resources.

This project, in addition to its economic impacts and creating added value in the production chain, can also pave the way for job creation and entrepreneurship development. Shahroki expressed hope that the implementation of the pressure boosting project will lead to the formation and development of new knowledge and technologies in the country and provide an opportunity to enhance the technical and engineering capabilities of the country in this field.
