Enbridge is examining a development plan for the Texas Eastern Transmission natural gas pipeline known as Tetco. This project aims to increase the capacity for transporting natural gas from the Houston area to the southwestern shores of Louisiana with a capacity of 2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). The rising demand for natural gas along the Gulf Coast due to industrial growth and energy supply needs has motivated this development.
Increasing Demand for Natural Gas along the Gulf Coast
According to forecasts, the demand for natural gas along the Gulf Coast is continuously growing due to the development of the petrochemical industry and increased LNG (liquefied natural gas) demand. This situation puts additional pressure on natural gas transmission infrastructure, prompting Enbridge to decide to develop the Tetco pipeline to meet this demand.

Technical and Economic Details of the Project
The Tetco pipeline, which is currently operational, is recognized as one of the main natural gas transmission lines in Texas. With the development of this pipeline, Enbridge will be able to transport a larger volume of natural gas to the areas in need in Louisiana. This project will not only create jobs and foster economic development in the region but will also enhance energy security in these areas. The exact costs of this project have not yet been announced, but given the high volume of investment in energy infrastructure, it is expected that this project will become one of the largest investments in the Texas energy sector.
Ultimately, Enbridge hopes that with this development, it will enhance its ability to respond to the growing demand for natural gas along the Gulf Coast and strengthen its role as a key player in energy supply in the region.
