Diana Shipping Inc., aiming to expand its activities in the shipping industry, has signed a time charter agreement for its Kamsarmax vessel named m/v Astarte with Aquavita International S.A. This vessel, built in 2013 and with a capacity of 81,513 DWT, is currently on charter to Propel Shipping Pte. Ltd. at a rate of $12,500 per day.
Details of the Charter Agreement
The new agreement is for a charter period of at least until September 1, 2027, and at most until November 15, 2027, at a rate of $17,000 per day. Additionally, a commission of 4.75 percent will be paid to third parties. This contract is expected to commence on September 20, 2026. In total, the gross revenue expected from this contract for the minimum charter period is approximately $5.81 million.
Status of the Diana Shipping Inc. Fleet
Diana Shipping Inc. currently has a fleet of 36 dry bulk vessels, including 4 Newcastlemax ships, 8 Capesize ships, 4 Post-Panamax ships, 6 Kamsarmax ships, 5 Panamax ships, and 9 Ultramax ships. The company also anticipates adding two new dual-fuel methanol Kamsarmax vessels to its fleet by the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028. Overall, the transport capacity of the company’s fleet, including two vessels that have not yet been delivered, is approximately 4.1 million DWT, and the average age of the fleet is 12.81 years.
