Global bioxy flows increased to 20.4 million tons (Mt) in September 2026, representing a 3 percent growth compared to the previous month. This increase is primarily due to rising flows from Guinea. However, declining demand in India and the Gulf is considered the main market challenge in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Bioxy Flows and Their Impact on the Market
Bioxy flows to China reached 19.7 million tons in September 2026, marking an increase of over 21 percent compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, bioxy flows to the United Arab Emirates faced a decline of over 60 percent in September 2026. This decrease is attributed to disruptions in maritime transport in the Arabian Gulf and reduced activity levels at some regional processing facilities.

Market Outlook for Bioxy in the Fourth Quarter of 2026
It is anticipated that global bioxy flows will face challenges in the fourth quarter of 2026. Guinea's export restrictions, set at 150 million tons per year in June 2026, are likely to negatively impact shipments in the final months of the year. Nevertheless, Signal Ocean data indicates that Guinea's bioxy exports have increased by 21 percent since the beginning of this year, suggesting a significant need for a reduction in shipments in the fourth quarter.
While demand in other parts of the world, especially in India, has decreased and the country is well-supplied, the current situation in the Gulf and regional tensions have also negatively affected demand recovery. Demand from China, as the main destination for global bioxy, remains relatively stable, but statistics show that bioxy imports into the country have remained unchanged in the third quarter of this year. This indicates a limitation in the need for demand growth.
