Amirhossein Pehlavan is a graduate of chemical engineering from the top universities in the country, who was appointed as the CEO of Lordegan Urea Chemical Fertilizer Company in August 2026. This complex plays a central role in providing chemical fertilizers for the agricultural sector and generating export revenue, being one of the main hubs for the production of ammonia and granulated urea in the central and Zagros regions of the country.

Education and Management Background

Amirhossein Pehlavan holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a master's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tehran. His practical experience in the construction and management of hydrocarbon megaprojects and large upstream project management has laid the groundwork for his precise approach in process engineering, reducing energy waste, and enhancing the efficiency of petrochemical lines.

Before joining Lordegan Petrochemical, Pehlavan held key positions in various petrochemical companies and holdings. These responsibilities include serving as the CEO of the Mahshahr Diamond Petrochemical megaproject, overseeing the Petrochemical Industries Investment Company, and chairing the board of directors of Petro Armand Lordegan.

Goals and Challenges

With the appointment of Amirhossein Pehlavan as CEO of Lordegan Petrochemical, the focus is on stabilizing the sustainable production of ammonia and urea and addressing technical bottlenecks caused by feedstock imbalance. This complex, with an annual nominal production capacity of 677,000 tons of ammonia and 1,075,000 tons of granulated urea, supplies its products not only to meet domestic needs but also to export markets.

The Lordegan Urea Chemical Fertilizer Company is located in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, covering an area of approximately 300 hectares. The company's shares are traded under the symbol "SHLARD" in the capital market and are a subsidiary of the "Petrol" group.

The management of Lordegan Petrochemical faces several specific challenges, including managing gas shortages in winter, which affects the company's balance sheet, and high logistics costs due to the distance from export ports. Additionally, accelerating the launch of the melamine crystal unit at Petro Armand is also a key objective of the new management.

In the first quarter of the year, Lordegan Petrochemical achieved significant financial performance with revenues of 3,500 billion tomans and a registered capital of 900 billion tomans. This figure indicates a leap in operational revenues compared to the same period last year.
