Amir Hossein Shakouhi has been appointed as the new CEO of the Iran Export Guarantee Fund. This appointment was announced by Seyed Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, in a meeting attended by board members and managers of the fund. In this meeting, Hosseini, the minister's advisor and director general of the ministerial area of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, announced the minister's decree for Shakouhi's appointment.

Background and Experience of Amir Hossein Shakouhi

Amir Hossein Shakouhi has a long history in the fields of foreign exchange and foreign trade. He has previously held positions including the management of the Currency Supervision Department and the General Directorate of Foreign Trade. These experiences will help him perform well in managing the Iran Export Guarantee Fund and effectively manage the existing challenges in this area.

Role of the Iran Export Guarantee Fund

The Iran Export Guarantee Fund is one of the key institutions related to the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, which operates in providing guarantee services and covering commercial and political risks. This fund plays a significant role by providing supportive and guarantee tools, especially in the area of managing risks in foreign transactions and supporting exporters. With the new management, it is expected that the fund's performance in supporting exporters and developing foreign trade will improve.

Amir Hossein Shakouhi has taken over the management of the fund after Afshar Fathollahi, who was appointed as the CEO of this fund in December 2024. This change in management occurs at a time when there is a strong need for support for exporters and coverage of export risks, especially in the current economic conditions.

It is expected that with the new management and considering Shakouhi's background, the Iran Export Guarantee Fund will be able to more effectively advance its goals and respond to the needs of exporters. This could have positive impacts on the country's foreign trade and the development of non-oil exports.
