Hamid Bord, the acting Minister of Oil, announced a 17% increase in gasoline production at the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company during a meeting with the company's managers. He emphasized the necessity of utilizing scientific and strategic approaches in managing oil industry issues, stating: "In large organizations, the high volume of activities may obscure the main issues among the details."

Consumption Management and Resource Provision

Hamid Bord referred to fuel consumption management, especially gasoline and diesel, as one of the country's fundamental challenges. He also stressed the importance of ensuring the security and sustainability of fuel-related systems, saying: "Consumption management and the implementation of expert plans in this area can help improve the country's situation."

Mohammad Sadegh Azimi Far, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, announced at this meeting that with a change in management approach, four main axes are being pursued, including supply and demand balance, value chain development, human capital development, and data-driven governance. Azimi Far added: "In the production sector, the average gasoline production has increased by about 17%, and four quality improvement projects have also been launched."

Reducing Consumption and Improving Resources

Azimi Far also noted that with a series of management actions, the annual growth rate of gasoline consumption, which was about 6%, has reached nearly zero and turned negative in September. Additionally, diesel consumption has decreased by about 2 to 3%. He addressed the importance of CNG as one of the significant capacities for consumption management, stating: "After the implementation of the third pricing plan, the consumption of this energy carrier has increased by about 12%."

Azimi Far referred to anti-smuggling activities, stating: "About 66,000 active cases have been organized, and approximately 2,000 migrant fuel cards have been identified and organized. Furthermore, to develop human capital, a center has been established where about 100 individuals have participated in its specialized courses so far." The main goal of this company is to control consumption, increase production, and strengthen storage to reduce dependence on gasoline imports.
