Jalal Hameh-Hosseini, the director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company in Kurdistan, announced that with the change in gasoline prices from September 8 of this year, CNG consumption in Kurdistan province has increased by 17%. During this period, daily CNG consumption in the province has risen from 330,000 cubic meters to about 400,000 cubic meters. In contrast, gasoline consumption has decreased by 3% during this time.

Increased Driver Acceptance of CNG

The director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company in Kurdistan emphasized that the acceptance of CNG by dual-fuel vehicle drivers has significantly increased. This change is not only beneficial for consumers but can also help improve air quality and reduce pollution. He also mentioned the daily distribution capacity of 1,200,000 cubic meters of CNG at 52 stations in the province, stating that the existing infrastructure has enabled a response to the increased demand for this fuel.

Economic and Environmental Benefits of Using CNG

Hameh-Hosseini pointed out the economic and environmental advantages of using CNG, stating that the increase in the consumption of this fuel in 2025 will save more than 123 million liters of gasoline in the province. This saving will not only help family economies but will also reduce dependence on gasoline and consequently lessen the pressure on the country's oil resources.

Overall, the increase in CNG consumption in Kurdistan following the gasoline price adjustment can be considered a successful model for other provinces as well. This change clearly demonstrates the positive impact of reform policies in the energy sector, which can help reduce fossil fuel consumption and improve the environment.
