Since the beginning of this month, the price of Iran's oil has faced a significant increase. According to published statistics, the price of Iran's light oil currently stands at $102.82, while the price of heavy oil has reached $100.92. This 13% increase in oil prices over the past 14 days has occurred due to escalating tensions in key oil transit areas, including the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb.

Impact of Tensions on Oil Prices

The Strait of Hormuz, as one of the most important maritime routes for oil transit, is always influenced by political and military factors. The increase in clashes between the Houthis of Yemen and Saudi Arabian forces, particularly in the coastal areas of Bab el-Mandeb, has raised concerns about the security of oil tanker transit. Following these clashes, the coastal area of Bab el-Mandeb has been captured by Yemeni forces, leading to an increase in oil prices in global markets.

Global Oil Price Trends

Alongside the increase in Iran's oil prices, Brent oil prices have also risen by 3.8% to $108.59, and U.S. oil has increased by 3.55% to $103.60. This upward trend in oil prices reflects the market's reaction to unfavorable security and political conditions in oil production and transit areas. Experts believe that the continuation of these tensions could lead to further increases in oil prices and have widespread impacts on the global oil market.

Currently, oil price fluctuations due to political and military developments in key oil transit areas have become a significant topic of interest for analysts and investors. Additionally, this price increase could have substantial effects on oil-dependent economies and global financial markets.
