Zeynab Qaisari today (Tuesday, October 19) at the brainstorming meeting "Mehrbano, Energy Ambassadors," referring to legislative actions for energy consumption management, stated: In the parliament, we have worked to create the conditions for reforming the energy economy and reducing resource consumption, especially natural gas, by pursuing various plans.
Reforming the economic structure of the electricity industry
Qaisari, referring to the plan to create an independent regulatory body for the country's electricity sector, added: Reforming the economy of the electricity industry can provide the groundwork for diversifying the electricity production portfolio and utilizing diverse resources and power plants. In such conditions, dependence on natural gas will decrease, and managing the consumption of this valuable resource will become more feasible through economic mechanism reforms.
Increasing productivity in the petrochemical industry
The representative of Tehran in the Islamic Consultative Assembly emphasized the importance of regulation in the petrochemical sector: Considering that natural gas is used as feedstock and fuel in the petrochemical industry, creating effective regulatory mechanisms can help increase productivity and optimize resource use.
Qaisari reminded that reforming the economic structures of the energy sector, alongside cultural actions and public participation, can create the conditions for sustainable consumption management and more efficient use of the country's resources.
The necessity of strengthening women's position in the oil industry
She emphasized the importance of enhancing women's positions at managerial and decision-making levels in the oil industry, stating: One of the manifestations of productivity and optimal use of the country's capacities is to provide opportunities for capable women to play a role in specialized and managerial responsibilities.
The representative of Tehran in the parliament noted the appointment of women to company boards, adding: 15 women have been appointed to company boards, which can create more opportunities to utilize their capabilities. It is essential that this trend continues and more opportunities for effective women's participation at various managerial levels are created.
The role of women in innovation development
Qaisari, referring to the scientific, technical, and engineering capabilities of women active in the oil industry, stated: Women in this industry have significant capacities in specialized, research, and technology fields. Introducing their achievements and providing opportunities for participation in decision-making can contribute to innovation development, strengthen human capital, and increase productivity.
She emphasized: Optimizing energy consumption is not limited to changing consumer behavior; rather, reforming economic structures, developing technology, efficiently managing resources, and utilizing the capacities of specialized human capital are also essential. The synergy of these actions can lead to energy consumption management and the preservation of national resources.
