Veson Nautical, a provider of maritime data and technologies, has recently announced that it is collaborating with Seaber to create a new integration for optimizing trip planning. This collaboration aims to facilitate planning processes and create live estimates in one step.

Integration Details

This integration connects Veson's core solution, IMOS (Integrated Maritime Operations System), to Seaber's planning and optimization platform. This connection helps eliminate manual steps between planning and commitment. With this integration, charterers can create and compare fleet scenarios in Seaber and send their decisions directly to IMOS. This process eliminates the time-consuming task of selecting vessels and combining cargo for estimates.

Optimization Benefits

With this new tool, charterers will be able to build complete fleet scenarios in Seaber's optimization engine and create and save estimates in one step before sending trip details to IMOS. IMOS then builds the route and calculates data related to freight, profit and loss (P&L), and time charter equivalent (TCE). This process helps optimize workflows before supply and fleet, giving teams more time to test different options with reliable and trustworthy data.

Jean-Guy Faubert, Senior Vice President of Revenue at Seaber, stated, "An estimate tells you how much a trip is worth. A scheduling plan tells you what trips your fleet should undertake and which order should be followed. Charterers optimize this plan in Seaber and compare scenarios and P&L simultaneously. The trips they commit to are saved as an estimate."

This integration also eliminates the need for manual data re-entry and shortens the time between proposing a plan and executing it. IMOS remains the primary record system as part of the Veson platform, where estimates are corrected before being delivered to operations. Since work on scenarios is done in Seaber, teams can test more options without compromising live P&L estimates. This connection not only helps optimize workflows before supply but also allows customers to leverage tools they trust and the native capabilities of the Veson platform.

Matt Filosa, Vice President of Strategy and Operations at Veson Nautical, commented, "By connecting Seaber's optimization solution directly to IMOS, we eliminate a manual step that slows teams down between planning and commitment. This is the value that the Veson platform is designed to deliver: an open platform that provides customers with more capabilities from the systems they trust, without changing how they work."
