TWMA (a producer and provider of drilling waste management services) has recently signed a new contract with an unnamed operator in the North Sea of England. The aim of this contract is to provide drilling waste management services for a multi-well campaign in the area. Operations under this contract are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Contract Details and Technology Used

This contract has been awarded to TWMA under an existing agreement and will include the deployment of RotoMill technology and related equipment. It is expected that approximately 2000 tons of drilling cuttings will be processed per well. The RotoMill system treats drilling waste at the source and at sea, eliminating the need to transport untreated cuttings to shore for processing.

TWMA has stated that this method can reduce vessel movements and associated greenhouse gas emissions by up to 50% compared to processing onshore. This project will be supported by the company's Aberdeen-based team.

TWMA's Experience in the North Sea

John Robertson, CEO of TWMA in the UK, stated: "We have been operating in the North Sea for over two decades, and securing new business like this is a strong foundation for our business in the UK and our team in Aberdeen." He continued: "This contract reflects the trust that operators have in our technology, our personnel, and our ability to deliver safe and efficient services in challenging marine environments."

This contract will help expand TWMA's portfolio of drilling waste management work on the UK continental shelf, where the company has been active for over 20 years. Hala Aslaksen, CEO of TWMA, also commented: "The UK continental shelf remains an important strategic market for TWMA, where we have been providing drilling waste management solutions for over two decades."

As TWMA has not disclosed the name of the operator or specific wells covered by the contract, further details about this contract are not available. However, this contract signifies the industry's desire and need for effective and sustainable drilling waste management in the offshore oil and gas sector.
