Ghodratollah Farajpour, the Production Control Manager of the National Petrochemical Company, announced the natural gas feedstock rate for 2026 to the CEOs of 33 petrochemical companies on September 22, 2023. These rates have been determined based on a letter from the Deputy Minister of Planning of the Ministry of Oil and include duties, taxes, and the government's legal rights. The natural gas feedstock rates for petrochemicals are as follows:
Natural Gas Feedstock Rates for Petrochemicals
- Farvardin and Ordibehesht: 17,955 Tomans per cubic meter
- Khodad: 20,126 Tomans
- Tir: 26,569 Tomans
These figures indicate a significant increase in the natural gas feedstock rates for petrochemicals compared to last year. According to available information, the natural gas feedstock rates for petrochemicals in 2025 ranged from 9,229 to 10,479 Tomans per cubic meter, which has nearly doubled this year.

Natural Gas Consumption Rates for Various Industries
In the fuel sector, the natural gas consumption rate for petrochemicals, refineries, and steel factories for public facilities has been set at 10,773 Tomans for the first three months of the year and increased to 17,849 Tomans in Shahrivar. The consumption rate for metal production units has also risen from 8,080 Tomans in the first three months to 13,187 Tomans in Shahrivar. For cement units, the gas rate has increased from 2,693 Tomans in the first three months to 4,462 Tomans in Shahrivar.
These changes in gas consumption rates reflect economic pressures and the need for cost optimization in various industries. It seems that the increase in feedstock and gas consumption rates for industries will have significant impacts on the final prices of these industries' products.
The feedstock and gas consumption rates for industries for the second half of the year will also be announced by the National Petrochemical Company at the end of Esfand. This issue could affect the planning for next year in the petrochemical and other industries.
