The Human Rights Headquarters of the Islamic Republic stated in a statement that the Albanian government must respect the peaceful right to protest of its citizens and refrain from violent confrontations with protesters. This issue arises as tensions in the region, particularly in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, have escalated.

Increase in Houthi Attacks and Its Impact on Regional Security

The Houthis of Yemen targeted several positions in Saudi Arabia on October 21, resulting in at least one death and eight injuries in an attack on the civilian airport in Dammam. Additionally, a drone attack on an oil field in Saudi Arabia left two dead. These attacks have caused serious disruptions to travel and civilian casualties.

Movements of the IRGC Navy in the Persian Gulf

The public relations of the IRGC Navy also announced that four ships that had passed through illegal routes were identified and targeted while transferring oil shipments in the northern part of the Persian Gulf. In this context, analysts from the London Stock Group warned that Iran may target tankers further away from the Strait of Hormuz, which would severely disrupt oil loading operations in the region.

In this regard, the U.S. Treasury Department announced on October 21 that in a new round of sanctions, five individuals, four companies, and nine vessels linked to the Islamic Republic's shadow shipping network were sanctioned. These sanctions include companies involved in transferring oil shipments and concealing the true owners of the ships.

Decrease in Crude Oil Reserves in the U.S.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration also announced on October 21 that the country's crude oil reserves decreased by 3.06 million barrels last week, reaching 412.5 million barrels. This decline was much greater than analysts' expectations, who anticipated a drop of 820,000 barrels in reserves.

Overall, the current conditions in the region and recent changes in the oil market require closer attention and examination by international and regional institutions.
