Increasing oil and gas production, completing the value chain of the refining industry, and addressing the imbalance of gasoline and diesel, revitalizing and upgrading the petrochemical industry, and increasing energy efficiency in the production, transfer, distribution, and consumption chain are priorities of the technological projects in the oil and gas industry.
Increasing Production and Foreign Currency Revenues
By providing modern drilling fleets and related services and equipment for the operation of oil wells, the goal is to increase crude oil production by at least 250,000 barrels per day. Additionally, these projects emphasize an increase of $5 billion in the country's foreign currency revenues, enhancing the productivity of oil fields, and diversifying and utilizing new production technologies.
In the South Pars pressure enhancement project, various contracts have been signed for the design and development of various in-well and surface turbines and compressors, and by implementing these projects over 40 years, the equivalent of $500 billion in excess gas production will be secured, maintaining a daily production of over 700 million cubic meters of gas from the South Pars field.
Transformation in the Petrochemical Industry and Energy Efficiency
The special technology development headquarters emphasized revitalizing and upgrading the petrochemical industry and purposefully completing the value chain of this industry using emerging technologies. Various projects in this area have been approved, which will help reduce annual imports of petrochemical products by $500 million and provide 530,000 tons of raw materials needed for the country's downstream industries.
The First Vice President also highlighted the necessity of energy conservation in this meeting, stressing the need to prepare a comprehensive package for energy savings and preserving national wealth, stating: "We must reduce energy consumption through cultural promotion and engaging public participation."
