The Downstream Industries Development Management of the National Petrochemical Company announced the supply of over 945,000 tons of petrochemical products in the first half of the current year. Of this amount, 507,704 tons have been traded on a credit basis. These transactions occur while total supplies during this period have exceeded 3 million tons.
Challenges in Securing Liquidity in Complementary Industries
According to the diagnosis of production obstacles in complementary industries, one of the most important challenges for the players in these industries is securing liquidity and working capital. These obstacles are particularly evident in the purchase of raw materials, and for this reason, increasing the credit sales of petrochemical products in the commodity and energy exchange has been prioritized to facilitate the supply of feedstock needed by complementary industries.
The Impact of Increasing Credit Sales on the Petrochemical Industry
Increasing credit sales of petrochemical products is considered a key strategy for revitalizing production units and completing the value chain. This action not only helps meet domestic needs but also significantly impacts foreign exchange earnings and economic growth by preventing raw material exports and imports of petrochemical products. Additionally, this trend will contribute to job creation and enhance Iran's position in the region and the world.
The National Petrochemical Company, considering the current challenges in the petrochemical industry, continues to encourage petrochemical companies to offer products on credit. This action is seen as a strategy for balanced development of the petrochemical industry and completing the value chain.
