Investment in Sustainable Projects
The COP31 Secretary advised NATO countries to accelerate environmental improvement and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing investment in renewable energy projects and green innovations. He also noted that developed countries should assist developing countries to make progress on this path. In this regard, establishing financial funds to support green projects seems essential.
The conference secretary also highlighted the importance of international cooperation in combating climate change and added: "Only through collaboration and partnership can we achieve the goals set in the Paris Agreement." He stressed the need for stronger commitments from various countries and pointed out that individual actions will not be sufficient.
According to him, NATO countries should move towards a sustainable and responsible approach by revising their policies. The COP31 Secretary called on different countries to take the lead in this area and act as a model for others.
