The Coordination and Leadership Council Conference (Iran Alternative) was held with the aim of gathering political and social activists to shape a comprehensive alternative in Iran. In this conference, 17 representatives from various organizations expressed their opinions and solutions.

The Necessity of Forming a Political Alternative

Sasan Ardakani, a representative of the "Nationwide Network of Women-Life-Freedom Revolution," emphasized the need to form a comprehensive alternative and stated that this alternative should bring together various political forces, from parties to independent activists. He stressed that "the principles of the Women, Life, Freedom movement are inviolable principles." This speaker also noted that to achieve common goals, there must be synergy and cooperation among different groups.

Mohyi, a female student and a victim of the nationwide protests of 2022, referred in her speech to the impact of the Women, Life, Freedom uprising on the transformations in Iranian society and said: "In the years following 2022, we witnessed workers, students, and other social groups taking to the streets." She stated that this diversity and political differences must be taken into account in any change or transformation.

Political and Social Challenges

At this conference, one activist from Sistan and Baluchestan also referred to the state of dissatisfaction and protests in this region and said: "The issue of Baluchistan is not just repression; we need an effective political force for change." He emphasized that protests need to be organized and transformed into a political alternative to inform the people about what kind of government will emerge after the Islamic Republic.

Vartan, a representative of the Revolutionary Students' Organization from Bushehr, also pointed to the government's warmongering policies and the economic problems faced by the people, stressing the necessity of forming an organized alternative. Maryam from Fars province also spoke about the need to eliminate discrimination against women in Iran and address the issues of the LGBTQ+ community.

Labor activists also emphasized the need for organization and the formation of an effective political alternative at this conference. One of these activists said: "We need networks that remain active even between protests and transfer experiences." Ava, one of the political activists, also stated that "Iranian society has moved beyond the stage of protest, and the Iranian woman is no longer a subject under control."

Omid Vaisi, a representative of the Revolutionary Students' Organization of Alborz, concluded his remarks by emphasizing that there is still no common idea for the post-Islamic Republic era, and this issue poses a significant challenge for political change in Iran.
